Alex, a queer Palestinian and member of Aswat--Palestinian Gay Women, will speak about being queer in Palestine and the simultaneous struggle for queer liberation and national liberation. A Lebanese American queer woman will also speak about the queer movement in Lebanon and the effects of the Israeli siege on the people.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the work of Helem, the largest LGBTI center in the Middle East, which has taken on a large role in providing food and shelter to many refugees from the south.
