On the anniversaries of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki... Demand an end to the war in Iraq, stop an invasion of Iran and call for the global abolition of nuclear weapons. At Bechtel and Livermore nuclear weapons lab we will support the sovereignty and dignity of indigenous people around the world and call for an end to nuclear weapons and the war in Iraq. Come camp out and relax with folks who want to see a world without warfare.

The campsite has built-in fun: A lake for swimming, plenty of trails for hiking, and bathrooms with running water. Please bring a tent, sleeping bag, musical instruments, and anything else you need to be comfy in the woods. Tent sites are assigned on a first-come basis so come early!

A communal kitchen will be enjoyed by all and you are encouraged to share your cuisine! Please bring food and water and your favorite grill-top recipes.

Check-in for the camp starts at 12 noon on August 5 and a wake-up call will be provided to campers. An evening huddle will start at 7 PM and will include discussion, music, and a time for spiritual connection as we engage in an all-faiths/atheist-inclusive Dance of Universal Peace.

To get to Del Valle from Hwy 580 in Livermore, California, take the North Livermore exit. Drive south through town until it becomes Tesla Road. Take the next right on Mines Road. Stay on Mines Road to Del Valle Road. Veer right up the hill into the park.

The gates to the park close at 9:00 PM, so please show up before then. You will need to register at the gate and each car must pay a $6 parking fee. (Well-behaved dogs are allowed for a $2 charge and owners must clean up after them.) Once you pass the camp gateway kiosk, take the first road on the right. Eagles View campsite is on the left.

Enjoy the vibe and prepare for the events of August 6 and 9.

On August 6 we will converge on Livermore Lab to say "No nukes! No wars! Defend the rights of indigenous peoples!" at one of the world's primary nuclear weapons design facilities. Then on August 9 we will march around Bechtel Headquarters to deliver the same message to the corporate face of the nuclear complex. Bechtel is a top profiteer of the war in Iraq, violator of indigenous rights, and nuclear weapons profiteer.

(Give peace a ride on August 6! Drivers needed. For ridesharing go to http://www.spaceshare.com/livermore.)
