A tribute musical on the writings of Janis Joplin was developed almost a decade ago, and a full theatrical production will open in San Francisco on July 7, 2006.

In this interview we discuss the career of Janis and the inticracy of the letters to the songs she wrote; how they weave a picture of the ride she was on in the heady sixties. Chet Helms' role in the whole scene as the pilot and guide gives foundation to the discussion.

The limited eight-week engagement begins Friday, July 7, 2006 with a press opening scheduled for Sunday, July 16 at:
