Digital Artists Obscure Reality for Corporate Profits: Before and After Case Study

Below is just one example of many of the work digital artists do every day "improving" the images of actors, men and women, products, and even children. The example of TV stars, before and after, is not nearly as dramatic here as it is on the photographer's site where the images are overlayed on top of eachother. At the photographer's site (see URL below), the commercial image is what you see first on the page, then if you mouseover the image, the original real photo is revealed. Sometimes it's startling to go from the supposedly beautiful faces you have become accustomed to on TV and in magazines to reveal the wrinkled and blotchy real faces. That is it's startling until you remember every thing you see in every commercial media venture is a twisted version of reality meant to make you feel bad about yourself so that you will buy things in vain and futile attempts to live the life of the mythical, magical beautiful people.
