Oakland Police Help Bust Illegal Immigrants

(CBS 5) OAKLAND It calls itself a "sanctuary city," and for a generation, Oakland has declared it will not help the feds deport illegal immigrants. But an exclusive CBS 5 report reveals that is not always true. A "city of refuge" -- or "sanctuary city" -- declaration is designed to get immigrants to come out of the shadows and get help without fear of getting deported. But because of a rise in gang violence, Oakland appears to be backing off its resolution to be a "city of refuge."
