Oakland Schools Strike tomorrow: Ward caves in: No Scabs

Oakland k-12 schools will be totally shutdown tomorrow. Dr. Ward threatened a few days ago to bring in scabs, however this afternoon he sent a note home to parents that children should not go to school. Ward clearly was lying and doesn't have the ability to break a strike.

Oakland Adult school will still be open. Picketeers are welcome.

Picket these sites:

Shoong Center to 9th St. between Webster and Harrison in downtown Oakland. Come at 7:30 am

Neighborhood Centers 750 International Blvd at 8th Ave-- get there 6:30am to persuade janitors and Hourly teachers not cross picket line.

Also 11:30 and 5:30 too are good times as Hourly teachers (not scabs) will be coming.

Edward Shands Adult school 2455 Church St. next to Easmont Mall. Get there at 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.
