Prevent the poultry industry's toxic secrecy http://fwwatch.org
The poultry industry wants you in the dark about the toxic air emissions their facilities release. Specifically, they don’t want to report how much ammonia they emit into the air, as normally required under Superfund and the Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA). “Knowledge is power” and the last thing that these giant poultry and egg operations want is for communities to be empowered to protect themselves.
Ammonia gas not only emits a strong stench, but is also considered an “Extremely Hazardous” substance under Superfund law. Ammonia from factory farms is associated with respiratory diseases, like asthma, and neurological disorders. Stop the poultry and egg industries from being able to hide communities’ exposure to toxic chemicals! Take Action here!

How To Recognize A Stroke
STROKE RECOGNITION

During a BBQ a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone
that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a
brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate
of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying
herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone
that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ - had they known how to identify the signs
of a stroke perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.

It only takes a minute to read this-

----- A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours
he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick
was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed and getting to the patient within 3
hours which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

3 steps. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the
lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage
when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple
questions:

1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . It is
sunny out today) If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1
immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify
facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general
public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the
American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. Widespread use of
this test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and
prevent brain damage.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people;
you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

BE A FRIEND AND SHARE THIS ARTICLE WITH AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE, you
could save their lives.

CNN Poll Ends At 83% In Support Of Charlie Sheen

Prison Planet.com | March 27 2006
http://www.prisonplanet.com/index.html

After talking with CNN we were able to confirm that Showbiz Tonight's poll asking whether viewers supported Charlie Sheen's comments on 9/11 finished 83% for and 17% against Sheen. Total votes ran to 53426, with 44519 for and 8907 against.

This result comes despite the fact that the Neo-Con website Free Republic had a campaign running to skew the poll in the against favor on their messageboards.

Alex Jones' two apperances on Showbiz Tonight, in which he went all out and said the government ran the attacks, suggest that he majority of the 83% were supporting nt just Charlie Sheen but Alex's comments as well.

Below is a screenshot from Saturday night with the poll at 84% in support.

Silverstein Buys Sears Tower. Look Out, Chicago!
This news is from 2004...here's a thread about it....
http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?noframes;read=46054

Silversein Bought World Trade Center, and faced an enourmous bill for asbestos removal.
It is common for landlords to torch their buildings and cash in on the insurance in such cases.
On Sept 11 2001, Silverstein said "There's already been too much loss today, pull it" re: WTC 7.
WTC 7 fell at 5:20 pm 9.11.2001. "pull" is the demolition term for exploding a building.

Why people aren't rioting in the streets over this is beyond my comprehension. Historians are never going to be able to figure out why a country like the United States, with its love of personal liberties and scepticism of government power, in the end simply lay down and let themselves be run over by a fly-weight mediocrity with two failed wars and a shattered treasury to show as his only accomplishments as unelected President.

SITTING ON A VOLCANO
Strange Days
The smell of the death camps wafts across America

It's getting ever harder to read the news and maintain a sense of reality. For example, there's the matter of Putsch's comments when he was signing the Patriot Bill. It put some limitations and his powers, and he let it be known in his signing statement that he regarded those limitations set by law as being advisory only, and that he would consider following them when he felt it was convenient for him to do so. Specifically, he felt no particular need to inform Congress of how the FBI would use the expanded police powers the act permitted. "It's good to be the king."

To Bethlehem and Beyond: Celebrating Nonviolent Resistance
An audio-visual report-back from Jim Haber, recently in Bethlehem for the "Celebrating Nonviolent Resistance" conference in late December. Almost 200 internationals and 200 Palestinians, along with 30 or so Israelis who came illegally, discussed the oft ignored history of nonviolent resistance worldwide, and in Palestine and Israel in particular. He also visited Palestinians and Israelis from Hebron to Jenin to Tel Aviv during the recent election campaigns.

Opening for Mr. Haber will be musical selections by Mokai, local singer/songwriter. Putting a twist on traditional folk and folk blues styles, Mokai accompanies his soulful vocals with powerful grooves and smokin' blues riffs. (http://mokaimusic.com)

Jim Haber is coordinator of War Resisters League-West and is on WRL's National Committee. He is also on the steering committee of United for Peace and Justice-Bay Area and is an active member of Jewish Voice for Peace. Reproductive Rights Movie Night!  -  at the Roxie Cinema

Films & Discussion:  Leona's Sister Gerri   &  The Last Abortion Clinic

Wednesday, March 29, 7:00 PM
Roxie Cinema
3117 16th Street (between Valencia & Guerrero), San Francisco

$ 8 - General Admission / $ 4 - Students

“Leona's Sister Gerri” (1995), is an award winning film by Jane Gillooly.
This film tells the dramatic story of Gerri Santoro, a mother of two and the "real person" in the now famous photo of an anonymous woman on a motel floor, dead from an illegal abortion. Reprinted thousands of times on placards, and in the media, this grisly photo became a pro-choice icon.

“The Last Abortion Clinic” (2005)
Written, produced and directed by Raney Aronson-Rath.
The New York Times said "...'The Last Abortion Clinic,' gives a lucid picture of how the anti-abortion movement in states like Mississippi has worked so many hurdles into local laws that abortions are almost unattainable for poor women."

If you care about this issue NOW is the time to get involved.
Abortion has already been banned in South Dakota. Who’s next?

# 3/29: Meeting IMPEACH BUSH-CHENEY
Reply to: cwolman mcn.org
We are a nonpartisan group of alarmed citizens who are working to elect an impeaching Congress in November.

The East Bay Impeach Bush late March Meetup
Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 7:00PM

The impeachment movement is growing rapidly. As a model grassroots group in an area that is a traditional incubator of movements, we are setting a standard of excellence in the quality of the work we do, and with the intelligence of our strategy. We are in the process of setting up an office with staff, to coordinate our many activities. These include producing literature, tabling at events, meeting with our Congresspeople and persuading them to advocate for impeachment, supporting candidates who will oppose pro Bush incumbents, persuading local city councils to pass impeachment resolutions, maintaining online groups and websites, maintaining liaison with local and national groups with related interests, educating the public, and more. At this point we have a core group of 10-15 people, skilled articulate people who are devoting many hours to the various activities described above. We need a lot more people to have the impact that we must have if we are to succeed. Please come to the next meeting and bring your friends. It will be at the SEIU union hall, and there's plenty of room. Peace, Carol Wolman, Co-Chair IMPEACH BUSH-CHENEY

comic strip artist TOM TOMORROW
reading & book signing for "Hell in a Handbasket"
Wednesday, March 29th at 7 pm

For years, Tom Tomorrow's acerbic and hilarious political cartoon, This Modern World, has been among the most recognizable and widely read comic strips in the country. In his first full-color compilation, "Hell in a Handbasket," Tomorrow looks unflinchingly at what America has become in the years since 9/11. "Hail, Tom Tomorrow." - Michael Moore.

Tom Tomorrow is the creator of the nationally syndicated cartoon strip This Modern World. His work appears each week in Salon.com and in alternative newspapers across the country. He has also been featured in the New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, The New Yorker, Esquire, and elsewhere. The former San Francisco resident is a two-time recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Cartooning.

MIKE RUPPERT AT THE COMMONWEALTH CLUB

Presented by Gypsy tripping_gypsy hotmail.com 510-704-0268

Mike Ruppert used to be a narcotics investigator at the L.A. Police Department until he realized that the CIA was dealing drugs and arms. He was offered a nice salary to keep his mouth shut, but was obviously underestimated since Mike became a whistle blower instead. Authorities tried to threaten him -- they even shot him -- but he survived and did not back down. Today Mike is justly considered the pioneer of the 9/11 truth movement. In this videotape presentation Mike names Dick Cheney as the prime suspect in orchestrating the 9/11 attacks. He talks about the war game exercises that involved fake plane highjackings which Cheney conducted on 9/11. He also gives detailed biographies of the Kean commission members. Huge conflicts of interest and corruption there. Mike is the author of Crossing the Rubicon, the second best selling book after The Kean Commission Report on 9/11.

# Legal and Civil Rights Groups Attempt To Halt Federal Grand Jury

Contact: Carlos Villarreal, Executive Director, National Lawyers
Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter at (415) 285-5067 x 10 or (415)
377-6961

When: March 30, 2006 at 9 a.m.
Where: San Francisco Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Ave., on the
front steps followed by Hearing, 10 a.m., Grand Jury Room B, 15th floor

The National Lawyers Guild and attorneys with Oakland-based Siegel &
Yee have filed a motion to quash a federal grand jury subpoena
seeking information related to a 2005 demonstration. The hearing on
the matter will take place Thursday, March 30th at 10 a.m. in Federal
District Court in San Francisco, in Grand Jury Room B on the 15th
floor of the Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Ave, and is open to
the public.

Independent journalist and educator Josh Wolf has been subpoenaed to
provide testimony and raw video footage related to the San Francisco
demonstration which took place in July, 2005. Mr. Wolf and his
attorneys are asking Magistrate Judge Maria Elena James to quash the
subpoena on several bases, including that Mr. Wolf is a member of the
media, and that the federal government is abusing its grand jury
powers to gather information on political protest activity and to
improperly provide information for an already ongoing local, San
Francisco Superior Court prosecution.

A press conference will immediately precede the March 30th hearing at
9 a.m. on the steps in front of the San Francisco Federal Building
(450 Golden Gate). A full press release and background information
will be available at the press conference.

Thursday, March 30 7:00pm - 9:00 p.m. with Reception to Follow

10.00 & No One Turned Away at Door For Lack of Funds

Prominent Theologian to Present Omitted Facts and Demand a Full
Investigation

Standing by the principle that all suspects in a crime who had the
means, motive, and opportunity should be investigated, Dr. Griffin
raises disturbing questions and brings to light many omissions and
distortions of fact in the official statement of the official account
- "The 9/11 Commission Report."

Some of the questions and omissions Griffin addresses:
About 100 times a year jet fighters routinely take to the air in
under 20 minutes to investigate aircraft in trouble. On 9/11, nearly
two hours passed without any interceptions. Why?

Why did the Twin Towers collapse straight down, totally, and at
virtually free-fall speed, given the fact that no steel-frame high-
rise building had previously collapsed because of fire and externally
caused damage?
Why did many witnesses, including many firefighters, report hearing
explosions before and during the collapses of the towers?

Why did World Trade Center Building 7, a 47-story steel-frame
skyscraper located over a block away from the Twin Towers, collapse,
even though it was not hit by a plane and had only a few small fires?

Why did the final report of the 9/11 Commission not even mention the
collapse of Building 7?

Please join us to hear Dr. Griffin's lecture, "9/11: The Myth and the
Reality."

When: Saturday, April 1, 1:00 PM

experimental, political & emerging puppetry

April 1st ONLY!!! * Counterpulse Performance Space

PuppetLOVE! brings together the best of West Coast experimental,
political and emerging puppetry. Now in our eighth year, we present
just one night of outstanding new puppetry work primarily from local
Bay Area puppet artists. This year's mini-festival highlights new
directions in shadow puppetry and object theatre and features a rare
appearance of Bay Area's own Wise Fool Puppet Intervention. Also
included will be new short works from Emily Butterfly of the Big
Tadoo Pupept Crew, Christine Marie formerly of Shadowlight
Productions, Il Teatro Calamari and Signal Light Theatre of Portland
Oregon. We also bring you a live puppet auction, intermission food
and entertainment by Jerome Waag of Chez Panisse and surprise guests.
PuppetLOVE! seeks to challenge the perception of puppetry as
artistically insubstantial. Join us as we lead into fantastical
worlds filled with lush visual poetry, complex themes, sharp wit and
dark humor. The work presented is geared for adults but children are

David Ray Griffin, featured speaker
“9/11: Myth and Reality”
Annual luncheon of the Democratic World Federalist
First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco
1187 Franklin Street (at Geary)
David Ray Griffin has put his formidable reputation on the line to scrutinize what he believed to be an inadequate and possibly disingenuous government investigation into the events of 9/11. Through his lectures and his books (The New Pearl Harbor and The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions), Griffin's well-honed speculative outlook, acute logic, and unbiased predisposition are brought to bear on this troubling period in United States, and world, history.
Come hear one of the world’s most celebrated theologians speak about the greatest deception ever perpetrated on the American people—and what can be done about it.
