Culture Jamming. Artists' Television Access Film and Video Festival Call for Entries

Submission Categories:
1. General: Shorts (running less than 30 minutes) in all genres and formats.
2. Special category: “Culture Jamming” - Including films with subversive meanings, media hacking, information warfare, terror-art and guerrilla semiotics, public activism opposed to commercialism and corporate imagery that plays with the branded images and icons of consumer culture to make consumers aware of surrounding problems and diverse cultural experiences that warrant their attention.
Postmark deadline: May 19, 2006
Ship entries to:

Formats:
Video, Super 8 and 16 mm.
Preview on VHS, miniDV or DVD*

*ATA will not return any tapes or DVDs submitted unless you provide a SASE with proper postage.

Entry Length (for both categories):
Work no longer than 30 min will be accepted.

Entry tape label:
Each entry must be labeled with title, contact phone and e-mail, length and category

$10. Payable by check with submission or by Paypal online.

Please, include:

1. Complete the submission form( available at http://www.atasite.org/news/?x=1753)
2. Preview copy of the film: mini DV, VHS, or DVD with title, contact phone and e-mail, length and submission category (General or Culture Jamming)
3. A stamped, self addressed postcard that we will send back to you as indication of reception of your film. International entrants will be notified by e-mail.
4. A short description of the film and a filmmaker’s bio (up to one page each).
5. One still of the film (optional).
6. Entry Fee: $10 (check or online)
7. Self addressed, stamped envelope

About Artists' Television Access:
Artists' Television Access is a non-profit, community-based, artist-managed media arts center in San Francisco's Mission District. Work exhibited at ATA includes film, video, performance art, installations, web art and traditional gallery genres. ATA's affiliate organizations include Other Cinema, Third i South Asian Film Festival, Neighborhood Public Radio and La Pocha Nostra. In 2004 ATA celebrated its 20th anniversary as a non-profit organization.
