60 minute hate in union square SF

A scene out of Orwells 1984 took place today (1/31/06) during bush's '06
State-O-union address. The giant video screen, the screams of hate, the bleating of the hated object. A crowd of approximately 3000 people banged the drum and vocalized as they waited for a 35 foot tall simulacrum of the would be emperor to be dragged off of its pedestal. What a spectacle!! There was even a DeBord quote on one of the placards. A chopper did a tight
circle (looked VERY dangerous, almost reckless aviation to me) above the crowd after the take down. Meanwhile, shopping continued....
