by world can't wait
LOOK UP!!! 300 ft. long "BUSH STEP DOWN" on Bernal Hillside (S.F.) this Tuesday morning.
This morning, on the day of George Bush's State of the Union speech, artists from the Mission District have erected one of the largest-ever installations created in San Francisco. The northern side of Bernal Hill in San Francisco is emblazoned with the demand thgat "Bush Step Down!" The yellow and white lettering is made out of fabric staked to the side of Bernal Hill, and is visible for miles.

Come to Union Square TODAY from 5:00-7:00 PM for a demonstration during Bush's State of the Union Address, where we will have a rally, music, and culminate in the toppling of a 40 ft. statue of Bush!

ok, leaving the fight between us anarchists and Chairman Bobs maoists pseudo-revolutionaries aside for a moment. let's argue that lil' ol' line of Succession that the constitution has in place in the event of a president stepping down, being impeach, or dying. supposing just for a moment, really suspending belief, Bush does bow to the criticism against him, are you "leftists" and "liberals" going to impeach Cheney? you fools really think Cheney is better than Bush? i say go for it but i may be alone on this one. i think Cheney would do a much better job of destroying america than Bush has doen in 6 years.
oh, and the World Cant Wait is fully funded and supported by the RCP. FYI

by anarchist

continuing with what the anarchist above has said...

yes, wcw should be renamed 'the cheney in '06 campaign' ...

or perhaps the 'kerry in '08 campaign' ...

isn't it amazing that wcw - despite being front group for a personality cult calling itself 'the revolutionary communist party' - manages to attract bigname democrats to their events?

big name democrats... who had NOTHING to say when their own secretary of state went on TV and said "WE THINK THE PRICE IS WORTH IT" when asked about the death-by-starvation of HALF A MILLION IRAQI CHILDREN.

big name democrats.. who come from the same party that murdered THREE MILLION VIETNAMESE people who had done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to your precious usa.

when you stand on stage with a democrat, it is no different from standing on stage with the entire nazi party. democrats are genocidal murderers with smiles on their faces ... and the rcp is trying - desperately - to steal the momentum of the anarchist movement and transform it into their murderous, authoritarian communist movement.

ain't gonna happen, fuckers. die like the scum that you are.
by solidarity against Bush regime
Nobody ever said that everyone needs to agree. An anarchist will not be a communist nor will a Democrat be a Green. That's fine, we're not a monolithic culture by any means. We agree with the Zapatistas in working towards a world in which many worlds are possible and exist. Everyone has different views yet we can all agree that the fascist Bush regime needs to be removed from power and put on trial for war crimes. Most people across the spectrum agree this isn't limited to George W. but includes Cheney, Rumsfled, Rove, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rice, and other Bush cabinet members. We also agree that the current presence of US military (sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, lovers and family members trapped in military uniforms) in
Iraq is undesireable by all except the wealthy petroleum execs and their politician Bush regime puppets. Any Democrat that comes to their senses and calls for a US military withdrawal from Iraq is also welcome to participate in removing the Bush regime for their illegally gotten position of power. Even if many Democrats were initially wrong about falling for the Bush regimes tales of deceit, many people were fooled by the extensive propaganda mechanism of the Bush regime. We all make mistakes and can recover from our mistakes by undoing the damage done. People need to recognize the needs for common ground amongst protesters despite the diversity of ideology found across the strata of protesters..

Look at the anti-fascist protest movements in other countries and there won't be as much infighting as here in the US. This results in anti-fascists having better results in organizing mass protests and when dealing with the police state during protest events. In Bolivia so many people came out to support the resistance to the US puppet government's theft of Bolivia's natural gas that the roads were closed down and the puppet president fled to the US. Unfortunately many people died and were injured from the violent police response to protesters. However, their solidarity made their voices heard around the world. We in the US are responsible for the actions of our government, even if we didn't vote for them, they represent the people..

Some of these anti-communist comments above appear to be intentionally provokative and most likely do not reflect the true beliefs of people who consider themselves anarchists. The history of anti-fascist movements like Spain have shown far better results when anarchists, socialist, communists all joined forces to prevent the onslaught of fascism. In fact, the places (ex. Nazi Germany) where infighting couldn't be overcome usually were the first places that fell to fascist tyranny. The US is currently in the grips of fascism..

We agree to disagree on personal political beliefs, though we ALL AGREE that Bush regime fascism needs to be stopped by ALL MEANS neccesary. We prefer non-violence, though as Martin Luther King Jr. stated, "Those who make non-violent revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable."

The Bush regime WILL BE STOPPED. The people will not be divided..

by anti-mao

the american nazi party is also opposed to the war in iraq and the bush administration. don't believe me? go to their website and see for yourself.

now, in case we've all forgotten, the nazis were, like, really bad people who, like, killed millions of people and established a highly authoritarian state.

there were also these other people, see, and they were (are) called maoists because they followed this guy named mao. maoists were also really bad people who, like, killed millions of people and established a highly authoritarian state.

so let me ask you... if the american nazi party had a front group called 'bush has got to go' and then publicly asked you to join them at their demonstration because, afterall, we're all against the war and we're all against the bush regime.... right? so would you go to their demonstration?

i wouldn't. or if i did, i would go to protest against a bunch a fucking nazis coming to my town and to let people know that nazis and their sick ideology have nothing to do with being anti-war.

so why do you give maoists a pass?
by @
we need to give the maoists a pass because, like, we need to unite all of our people 'n stuff.

note sarcastic tone.

the people will go out and march behind the RCP banner because the people are mindless sheep. (consider the support kerry received). i've heard over and over that they are not worried about the RCP because they will never become a viable party, while they continue to donate tens of thousands at every parade and continue to link the RCP with what the mainstream sheep consider to be a legitimate party, the dems.

"the fight between us anarchists and Chairman Bobs maoists pseudo-revolutionaries"

the situation is indeed extremely politicized. however, the two realms are not mutually exclusive.

any time in the real movement should convince any reasonable person of that.

why dont you go internally polemicize the republicans, or something useful like that?
by should read
the situation is extremely polemicized.

Wow! Brilliant!
I know that took a lot of measuring twice, cutting once, plus a lot of slipping downhill. Excellent work, from one urban redecorator to another. My Bernal household is very proud of you, strangers!
by anti-fascist by all means
The so-called anti-maoist says, "Be careful who you align yourself with."

Why, if you go to the World Can't Wait protest supposedly organized by maoists (proof anyone?) to drive out the Bush regime you may as well just join the American Nazi Party because they're both a group of evil tyrants. One maoist, other is Nazi. Guess we should just all stay home and not protest the US occupation of Iraq anymore, because then we'ld be expressing the same view as the American Nazi Party!! Matter of fact, if the Nazis are against the Iraq occupation, maybe then we should oppose the Nazis and be pro occupation of Iraq!!

Sounds like anti-maoist would rather play divide and conquer games until the Bush regime has gained absolute power, them maybe he can quietly sneak off and snitch on those evil maoists who dared to organize and speak out against the occupation of Iraq..

Here's a challenge to anti-maoist, how about furnishing some proof that the WCW group actually is controlled by maoists?
by TW
Hey stupid:

The american nazi party is a state-sponsored Orwellian organ. Its entire purpose is to make this statement: "anything we believe is a thing only total assholes believe."

You don't like the Iraq war? Gee, you must be a total asshole!

Goebbels and Stalin's information ministries were RANK AMATEURS compared to U.S. Barnumologists
by TW
With his item about the RCP hob-nobbing with big-name democrats, 'anarchist' made the exact same point about them, and I find this totally believable. The RCP **HAS TO BE** an Orwellian fraud. Spooks run this country, okay? They have for fifty years. Kennedy got whacked because he challenged their power, which has been absolute since then. The Bushes are merely the spookocracy's designated torchbearers. There is NO effing WAY this regime would allow an authentic communist revolutionary movement to gain any momentum in this country. To believe otherwise is to be a profound historical ignoramus. Since RCP *is* being allowed to operate, it has to be their instrument. Its main function is gathering names. Stay the hell away from them, don't let them even know what you look like
by green grrl
I love the message, the initiative, and act. I know it took creativity and courage. But Bernal isn't a billboard. It's a sensitive area that's now been staked on it's most substansive grassland.

However, I trust that the activists responsible for this work took care when putting the stakes in, and I'll hope they were tent stakes, rather than the type that you'd use to kill vampires.

Bravo.
by still waiting for some evidence
Here's another stupid idea from a very stupid person;

Maybe all the hype above about World Can't Wait is really the Revolutionary Communist Party, and of course, there's no possibility that any real communists could be operating so openly in the US, therefore WCW = RCP = CIA/FBI/etc..

Don't let them see who you are! Fear them! Stay at home and obey curfew!! Don't go to any anti-war protests organized by the WCW!!

Amazing how anonymous comments can twist reality so that an organization can go from being anti-war protesters to maoist RCP communists to really being CIA indisguise, drooling over signatures of the thousands of people who are foolish enough to show up at anti-war protests in hundreds of cities around the US..

Sometimes i think that certain individuals really do fear any communist group gaining some foothold in the US, and that would result in the wealthy losing their positions of power. Make up anything to prevent the wealthy from losing their privilage, eh?

In this case the anonymous posters, calling themselves "anarchists" or anti-maoists" take the rumor ball and run with it, drumming up hysteria that the WCW is a maoist or CIA organization. Yet they repeatedly fail to show evidence of this assertion. Ironically this same claim was made about the ANSWER group, though they just morphed into something else? In this situation the comments aren't much better than the FBI themselves, who implicate random ecoactivsts as being ELF ecoterrorists based on hearsay from some paid informer with questionable background..

Why not got to anti-war protests anyway and be anonymous, as in don't sign anything and cover your face? Or, organize your own protest if WCW isn't to your liking?

lunamoth
It's interesting how the WCW/RCP's original, millitant-sounding main slogan, "Drive Out the Bush Regime!", has been pushed far down into second place by their new slogan, "Bush Step Down!". The original slogan, whatever its faults, was a call on the people/masses (choose your term!) to take action, while the newer slogan is a a call to action -- by Bush!

The newer, much lamer, slogan is likely to be more appealing to Democrats, liberals and less militant pacifists, but it undermines the creation of the kind of militant movement of the oppressed that can really bring about change.

For those for whom these historical references are meaningful, I'll opine that the RCP has been moving, at least since the time of the Clinton impeachment, from the "third period" to the "popular front".
by Aaron Aarons
The Nazis killed many millions of people mainly because their policy was to kill many millions of people in order to take their land and resources for the benefit of the "master race". (It was very similar to what racist English settlers had done in North America in a less coherent way over a period of centuries.)

The millions who were killed or died of famine under Mao were mostly the victims of overly ambitious, sometimes grandiose, efforts to rush the building of a society in which people wouldn't go hungry. This is not to deny that officials at various levels at times committed oppressive acts that were motivated by selfish interests, but the overall ideology was, unlike in the case of Naziism, aimed at the well-being of all peoples regardless of race or nationality.

Moreover, those who point out the millions (out of a population that now exceeds one billion) who died of famine in Maoist China don't bother to discuss how many might have died if China had not had its revolution. Nor do they mention how many millions died, for example, in neighboring India just during World War II, largely because the British took food from India to feed their armies.

Then there's Africa, a whole graveyard full of past and current imperialist horror stories.

So, when judging the experience of Mao's China overall, consider the alternatives!
by think for yourself
I would recommend you not to use a real name, or to put your e-mail address when you post on this web site. especially if you are going to write positively about Mao.

The slogan "drive out the bush regime" is still alive, and the w.c.w does want that bush will "step down" by a popular people movement who would force him to do so just like with nixon. Creating fighting inside the ruling class, polarizing society and enabling people to understand that they make history, can bring revolutionary times in this country.

You are right about Mao, with Stalin too people don’t knew history or ignore the difficulties that socialist societies face (or the enormous changes that were made for the masses and the oppressed).
