Charter School Unionizes

Edison Brentwood Academy and Edison-McNair Academy are the first Edison Schools Charter schools to unionize. Contract was ratified, and includes increase in pay and limited protection for 5th-year Edison teachers.

Edison Schools operates charter schools across the nation. Privatization of education has been considered desirable by some, in part because charter schools have been free from teacher unionization.
