Norman Solomon: Defends John Yoo as "minor" & Gov't Lie on 9/11 Inside Job

Normon Solomon, a journalist, again repeated the government's lie on the 9/11 inside Job, claiming it was not an Inside Job, and now adds that the infamous law professor at UC Berkeley's law school, Boalt Hall, John Yoo, best known for authoring torture memos, is just a minor functionary. This reactionary routine was heard on KPFA, 12/22/05, and hopefully, Norman Solomon, and his fellow reactionary, a Mr. Perry, who repeated the same gov't lie on 9/11, will not appear on KPFA again.

First, it is long overdue that the news and political affairs department at KPFA investigate why does John Yoo continue to sit at Boalt Hall? This is obviously a major story but no one has done the investigation. John Yoo provided legal advice to the president, and there is nothing minor about that. Since KPFA sits in Berkeley, there is no excuse.

Second, the crime of 9/11/01 was obviously an inside job as there was no air defense. We learned soon after that there were 4 war games perpetrated by the US Air Force that made it impossible to distinguish the real from the fake, and this could not be a coincidence. The planes were guided on remote control by the viciously reactionary US Air Force, whose public Air Force Academy is notorious for promoting Christian evangelicalism and discrimination against women. There were no hijackers on those planes; 9 of the so-called hijackers are alive and there were no Arab names on the passenger lists. The Twin Towers and Building 7, which was not hit by a plane, were brought down by construction explosives which were set in the weeks before when there were evacuation drills at the best of a security agency at the World Trade Center that was run by Bush's brother, Marvin Bush, and his cousin, Wirt Walker, III, and the weekend before 9/11/01, when the Twin Towers were shut down supposedly for cable rewiring. The Pentagon was hit by a missile and the plane over Pennsylvania was shot down by the US military. The cell phone calls over 8,000 feet were staged as it was not possible in 2001 to make cell phone calls from planes flying at 30,000 feet. These are just some of the facts. One reactionary caller tried to claim the actual Reichstag Fire, which 9/11/01 certainly was, was done by a lone nut, which is a lie, and Solomon skirted the truth by saying it was just analogy which of course he could not use since he supports the government's lie on the 9/11/01 Inside Job. While a Dutch Communist, and a nut, was convicted of setting the original fire, Bulgarian communists arrested for it, including George Dimitrov, put the Nazis on the witness stand and proved to the world that the Nazis set fire to their own government building, and thus Dimitrov and his fellow Bulgarian communists were acquitted. The Reichstag Fire was perpetrated by the Nazis for the same reason as the 9/11 Inside Job: To promote war and fascism so as to maxmize the profits of the capitalist class.

It is not possible to claim one is "progressive" and support the government's lie on the 9/11 Inside Job. It was an Inside Job, the CIA's Operation Northwoods realized, a 1962 plan approved by the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff, to carry out all kinds of agent provocateur actions, including blowing up a US airplane and blaming it on Cuba so as to have an excuse to invade Cuba. This was the updated version.

As to Bush's latest Alice in Wonderland routine, claiming he is the judge, jury and executioner; first the verdict then the trial (if ever, probably never), this is nothing new in capitalist politics. The workingclass has never experienced democracy in capitalist America. The pretense of democracy may exist for the professional middle class, but for the workingclass, the iron fist of fascism is the usual. Only with a serious labor movement can we put and end to this bankrupt social order that has as its primary law the maximization of profit.
