Non-Aligned Movement to Set up News Agency
Kuala Lumpur, Nov 22 - (IRIB) The proposed Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) News Network (NNN) will be a credible global news network with editorial policy 'to tell the truth and the whole truth', Malaysian Information Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir said Monday.
He said the NNN would report the truth about issues and events in NAM countries even if the news was against their interest.
"The truth, nothing but the truth. If sometimes it's against our interest, what can we do. We have to tell the truth, then we will slowly evolve into a credible news agency," he told reporters after chairing the first day of the two-day sixth conference of the Ministers of Information of non-aligned countries (COMINAC VI).
The NNN is aimed at promoting a better flow of information among member countries and the rest of the world.
