North Bay / Marin | Police State and PrisonsPhotos from 11/19 Save Tookie Rally-- Snoop+Fred Hampton
Hundreds of people came out to a rally outside of San Quentin today to demand clemency for Stanley "Tookie" Williams. ![]() snoopatthemic.jpg Speakers included youth from the Bay Area and the LA area, clergy from up and down the state, Fred Hampton, Jr, Barbara Becnel (longtime Tookie advocate), and Snoop Dogg. Snoop will be releasing a song about Tookie this Monday on his website, http://www.snoopdogg.com - Jamie Foxx is in this one, I think he said.
These are pretty much all of my best photos of Snoop. I will be posting more photos of the crowd and other speakers. Maybe some audio, too. http://www.themahtin.com
San Quentin
![]() sanquentinstateprison.jpg Stanley "Tookie" Williams is in there somewhere. Snoop had planned to meet with him today, but the prison cancelled all visitations. This means that dozens of families weren't able to meet with their incarcerated loved ones today. :(

Snoop at Press Conference
![]() snoopatpressconference.jpg Snoop spoke at the end of the rally, and then a brief press conference was held. Snoop was then whisked back through the crowd to go speak to a youth conference in the South Bay.
