Tookie's good works in prison may have partially redeemed him for cofounding the Crips. He still needs to answer for the quadruple homicide. Among those four, Tookie killed a 7/11 clerk after robbing the store of $122.

Tookie does not value life very highly. He has already cost us much more than $122. The State will commit cold-blooded murder of a cold-blooded murderer. That is how the system works. Lights out, Tookie. Time to go

Sure, I'll try to save Tookie Williams, but join with Snoop Doggy Dog? He is one of the most mysogynistic "artists" around! I'm skeptical as to why he all of the sudden has a conscience. Those 'girls gone wild' video sales down??

Death and taxes, they say, are inevitable. The satisfaction of blood lust is a blemmish on our Democracy no matter who the perpitraters may be. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The Northbay daily, The Press Democrat, gave the rally positive if shallow and buried coverage. http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051120/NEWS/511200312/1034/NEWS02

To Frank, I'll say any conviction based on the kind of trial Tookie had in the kind of system we have is suspect. Also people are capable of change, this is the fundamental problem with the death penalty. Any system will fail sometimes, any person is capable of change and redemption. Let me be clear I'm not calling for murderers to be given play therapy at animal shelters and pre-schools, but I do think helping people find redemption is far more healthy than werehousing them and shoving their face in what ever mistake they are werehoused for.

right on, wonderwoman.

like you i support clemency for mr. williams (and all death penalty prisoners) but would not attend an event featuring the misogynistic violence peddlar SnoopDogg. If he's a spokesman for peace, we are in trouble.

Not only does he glorify violence, street crime, hatred and violence against women, and the exploitive pimp lifestyle, he's implicated in the murder of a young Eritrean man gunned down by his driver. Dogg may not have been convicted, and maybe he didn't really order the hit, but he has blood on his hands.

He'd do well to donate his fur coats to charity and use the proceeds to compensate the victims of gang violence in LA, Long Beach, and Compton. It's a sad indicator of the state of popular culture in Amerikka that a clown like Calvin Broadass can be looked up to by our youth for leadership.
