In light of the split in the AFL-CIO that erupted this week, this conference, "Democracy and Divisions in the House of Labor" is very relevant.

Location.  California State University Sacramento

Sponsor.   Labor Studies Program: CSU-Sacramento.
Sacramento Central Labor council. AFL-CIO.


Proposals for presentations:

We welcome proposals for presentations by persons well informed on issues of labor and democracy.
Presentations will usually be 15 minutes.  We can not at this time guarantee a time slot.
Please describe your proposed presentation in a brief paper, less than 4 pages.  Submit proposals to:

Procedures and Guidelines
• Individuals may not submit or appear on more than two proposals, either as primary or secondary presenters.
• The same institutional affiliation may not appear on more than two proposals.
• Do not list individuals as secondary presenters unless you have a definite commitment that they will present.
• All primary and secondary presenters must pay the Conference registration fee and have a registration badge.
• Persons presenting at this  conferences or related programs are expected to use material and language that do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, ethnicity, religion, physical ability, or sexual orientation.

The staff are members of CSEA-affiliated with SEIU. There has been no discussion of SEIU’s plans vis a vis the AFL-CIO.
