Greens Warn Special Interests Could Kill Universal Healthcare

Green Party of California warns
'greedy' special interests trying to kill
universal health care bill in Legislature
The Green Party is warning that "greedy" special interests could kill the Universal Healthcare bill. With one in five Californians lacking healthcare coverage, the Green Party has been urging both Democrats and Republicans to support SB 840, the California Health Insurance Reliability Act by Senator Kuehl. While the bill has passed the Senate and is now in route to the full Assembly, Green Party representatives warn, "We understand there is a move by greedy special interests to call in special favors of lawmakers they have supported financially to scuttle this measure in favor of corporations, not people."
