Accepting gay people and not preying on your neighbors are two different things. Not preying on your neighbors is more important because there are far, far more people involved. Roughly ten percent of Israel's neighbors are gay. Israel preys not only on them, but also on the other ninety percent who are not gay. Israel is a predator state.

The Israeli Supreme Court on Monday ruled, by a 7-2 majority, that a lesbian couple is able to legally adopt each other's children.

The decision sets a precedent in relations between same-sex couples with regards to adoption.

According to the literal wording of the law, only married couples are allowed to adopt children, except in rare circumstances. Recently, the court handed down a ruling allowing a common law wife to adopt her partner's children. Based on the above ruling, the court expanded the principle to include same-sex couples.

The court also released the name of the parents: Tal and Avital Yaros-Hak.

Director of the "New Family" organization, attorney Irit Rosenblum, said Monday's court ruling was revolutionary.


"Our organization is also helping a gay couple, who wish to be recognized as the adoptive parents of a child that was legally adopted in the US, and are now suffering from bureaucratic caprice and prejudice regarding the rights of a same-sex family. We hope the court's ruling will lift the remaining obstacles."



MK Roman Bronfman (Yahad), the leading campaigner in the Knesset for homosexual rights, said the principle of "ensuring the welfare of children," was victorious over the conservative approach to families.



Shinui MK Hemi Doron said the decision shows that as opposed to several MKs "who are living in the dark ages," the court is operating according to norms of the 21st century. He said he hoped that the next step would be civil marriage.

Regarding Homosexuality:

How many gay Palestinians have fled to Israel because their families have tried to kill them? Hundreds.. Thousands?

Being gay in Paletine is a death sentence. Israel, on the other hand, has openly gay Generals, gay newspapers, civil union rights, and gay adoption. (not even America has these rights)

Regarding Colonism:

True the Palestinians had to flee their land. But remember, 500,000 Jews were ALSO forced to flee Arab lands (property taken away, thousands killed). Fortunately for them, Israel took them in and allowed them to thrive.

The Palestinians were not so lucky. No Arab country would help them and take them in. In Syria and Lebanon, they are STILL forced to live in ghettos without rights or freedoms. 50 years should be enough to earn the right to be Arab. (Jordan is a notable exception)

Nobody cries for the Jewish refuges, or even the Palestinians who are brutalized by fellow Arabs. People only give a damn when Palestinians are brutalized by Jews. And that is unfair.

Regarding Society:

Ask any Israeli Arab if they rather live in Israel or the state of Palestine when it is formed and they will say "Hell NO!" And I don't blame them.

Israel is the only middle-east country where you can sue your government and win!

Lets be honest...

Palestinian women have no protection from being beaten by their husbands, or burnt alive in "Honor Killings". Liberal Atheist have no protection from fundamentalist who condemn anything but "pure Islam". And everyone is in fear of corrupt Arab governments who use torture daily.

There is no evidence that when the state of Palestine is formed it will be any less brutal than Syria, Pakistan, or Iran. Even though millions of Israeli Arabs ARE marginalized and discriminated against, they still have more rights and freedoms then just about any other Arab.

I am not excusing Israel as they have done some terrible and selfish things. But I think its time that 500 million Arabs stop blaming 5 million Jews for all their problems and start taking more responsibility for their societies. We have to recognize that Israel is a scape goat.

Its time for Arabs to start being kind to Arabs.
