Oakland City Council Meeting on Measure Z...Tuesday, June 14th - 7:30 PM - City Hall
by via DG and RM
Monday Jun 13th, 2005 1:11 AM
When? Tuesday June 14th, 7:30 PM Where? Oakland City Hall Hearing Room One, First Floor Why? Voters overwhelmingly passed Measure Z in November. Now, seven months later, the City Council is finally taking action to implement Measure Z.

Hi Activists,

99% of the activists that worked the phone banks, and
a great percentage of the people who gathered
signatures for measure Z were patients, caregivers or
people involved with passing prop 215. They believed
that the classification of Marijuana as a Class 1 drug
is wrong and that private adult use of marijuana
should be taxed and regulated and decriminalized like
alcohol was after prohibition. We all still face the
Federal laws that seem to classify us all as criminals
for using a drug that has never killed anyone by
overdose in history. Most of us that use medical
marijuana feel taxing our medicine is wrong, busting
us is wrong, and continuing to classify marijuana the
way they have is a miscarriage of justice. Please join
us in the spirit of solidarity on Tuesday night. The
following message is a forward.

Thank You

Richard M
