Educate yourselves on Energy Issues and do not fake innocent people into doing crazy stuff

by Francisco Da Costa (frandacosta [at] att.net)
It has been a long fight to sit down with CEC,CPUC, FERC, SFPUC, attend many public meetings,to help shut down the Hunters Point power plant that is old and spews toxins.Be educated and fight for what is right.

It has been a long fiight to sit won with the Caliifornia Energy Commission (CEC), Calfiornia Public Utilities Commision (CPUC), Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC), SF Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), LAFCO, attend many public meetings linked to the Jefferson-Martin Transmission Line, the Mirant-Hunters Point Transmission Line, other meetings to help shut down the old toxic spewing Hunters Point power plant.

WiIllie Brown the former Mayor of San Francisco with his cronies like Linda Richardson did not help us before and will not help us now. I have never seen her or others that want to join her to make some noise attend one single Stakeholder's meeting. These folks are uneducated on issues and especially Energy Issues.

Here are the issues that we are fighting very hard to have in place to safeguard the health of all constituents:

1. Jefferson Marting underground transmission line in place by 2007 for sure. This will shut the Hunters Point Power plant down forever. Mitigate the environment. Real Action - No Nonsense.

2. Mirant-Hunters Point underground Transmission line in place by 2006 for sure.

3. Hunters Point - Larkin - Mission underground Transmission line in place by 2007 for sure.

4. We are having a Stakeholders meaningful dialog to see into the
possibility of a underground in the bay transmission line from Pittsburgh-Mirant by 2011.

If all these transmission lines are in place we will have sufficient power to accomodate our needs.

We need Green Action to helps us stop the City and County of San Francisco and SFPUC place 3 very toxic Combustible Turbines in the Southeast Sector - now. Make a lot of noise about this - protest in front of SFPUC and San Francisco City Hall.

In the interim we should work to have policies to Conseve Energy and Green Action should join us at the table with practical solutions. All they want is money..

We are suspect of anyone taking money from the corrupt City Agency - San Francisco Environment. SFE has failed to promote conservation and worked against the better interests of the constituents of San Francisco. Green Action takes lots of money from SFE. SFE spends over 57% on its administration.

Some Blacks mostly sellouts and followers of Willie Brown have failed us in the Southeast. Today only 19% of the population is Black in the Southeast. In 5 years it will be 5%. This has happened because of sellouts.

Some corrupt Blacks do not represent all the constituents of Bayview Hunters Point. I represent the First People who were here thousands of years - before some corrupt folks started talking for the people - but really are talking about filling there pockets with money.

I am not for PG&E and have taken them on many times. But, I do not want innocent people making a fool of themselves at 77 Beale - by serving an enviction notice that does nothing at all. Come up with practical solutions and if PG&E does nothing we will join you all. Let us not join the fray to make empty noise which deters us from the good that is on track because some of us have worked hard and NOT be on the take.

Two great people join me and agree with me Espanola Jackson and Lynne Brown - others too. None of them are sellouts.
