As the sun broke through the clouds at 9 a.m. on March 19, 2005 in San Francisco, 2 years after the illegal US invasion of Iraq to steal Iraq's oil, and the same day in 1938 that Mexico nationalized its oil, it was clear that not only would we have a fantastic peace march, but that the government lied about the weather, as it lies about everything else.

With worldwide peace marches planned for this important day, the same government that lied about the 9/11 Reichstag Fire and puts out videos to promote fake news, also lied about the weather when it claimed we would have a whole week of continuous rain, including March 19, when in fact, the rain stopped at 9 a.m. in San Francisco, and remained stopped all day Saturday and through Sunday morning for sure. Just as we have the technical ability to stop all hijackings or anything similar immediately, as occurred on 9/11/01, we have the scientific and technical ability to predict the weather accurately. This gross inaccuracy is not an accident; it is deliberate.

It demonstrates the importance of our peace marches and why we should all attend all of them if at all possible, rain or shine. Clearly, the capitalist class is bothered by our peace marches as they send the message around the world, and most importantly, to all Americans, that there are millions of Americans who oppose the government's policies of war and fascism and want civil liberties and peace.

We had a very spirited march of 25,000 people of all color and all ages attending in a wide variety of costumes and signs with all kinds of musical instruments.

The most notable and of course the most needed was the labor contingent because only the workingclass can and must make the fundamental change needed to put an end to war and guarantee all our social needs. The longshore workers, the ILWU, led the labor contingent with a very impressive drill team who amazingly never seemed to lose any energy in our mile long parade. The ILWU, Local 10, also closed the ports over which it has jurisdiction on March 19, 2005, namely San Francisco and Oakland. The chants of the labor contingent were to the point and much appreciated in the workingclass community of the Mission District where we marched:

Don't fight the bosses' wars;
Fight the bosses here at home;
Organize labor!

They say cutback; we say fight back!
