The SF Chronicle
The SF Chronicle, taking a page from the playbook of anti-choice activists, is doing its part to create "personhood" for unborn fetuses. In the story below, the fate of the woman who arguably suffered more profoundly, both physically and emotionally, is submerged under the story of the fetus. This is outrageous. Please consider writing a letter to the Chronicle.

SAN JOSE
Fetus dies in crash by alleged drunk driver
Ryan Kim
Thursday, March 3, 2005
A day after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a San Jose man crashed while allegedly driving drunk and caused a passenger to deliver a still-born fetus, Santa Clara County prosecutors said Wednesday.
The driver, Louis Vincent Brackett, 19, was charged Wednesday with murder and felony driving under the influence causing great bodily injury.
Prosecutors said Brackett had been intoxicated when the car he was driving Saturday struck two cars in San Jose. A 15-year-old girl who was riding in Brackett's car was injured, and doctors were unable to save her 31- week-old fetus.
Brackett had pleaded guilty a day earlier to driving under the influence and was to begin a jail sentence April 2.
