by Alex Orzulak ( aorzulak [at] sfsu.edu )
Thursday Feb 10th, 2005 12:15 AM
Animator seeking secession-minded folks for voice talent and any general assistance for Pacific America, copyright 2005 by Alex Orzulak, 3-4 minute film of the west coast's split from the US, and the resulting second American Civil War, 2012-2019. Not sci-fi, more of an alternative future which is unfolding now as Bush and company run rampant. Told in voiceover with maps and graphics.

Pacific America: The Second American Civil War, 2012 - 2019
will be a short mockumentary using maps and animation. Synopsis: After 4 Republican presidencies, American troops are locked in 'democracy-building' conflicts focused in oil-rich Venezuela, Nigeria, Mexico, and Turkistan. Iraq is a democratic theocracy which nurtures both extremists and progressives, while US troop levels there have dropped to 130 thousand. Wetlands are mostly toxic runoff, legal abortion is the #1 reason for travel to Canada, and Morality Initiatives continue to subject harsher versions of the Patriot Act upon an increasingly disenfranchised poor and middle class. After a brutal shutdown of independent media, Democratic Greens in the Senate join with underground activists and allies all over the globe to rally support for the secession of Oregon, Washington, and Northern California into Pacific America....
7 years of civil war told in voiceover and broadcast graphics, all animation, no filmed footage.
This new nation, whose bike messengers, prison gangs, video game coders, and Hollywood-funded mercenaries survived brutal urban warfare from Bakersfield to Puget Sound,
now boasts a constitution honoring humanity and the environment.

I will need voiceover talent and access to audio recording gear. I am creating all visuals using animation software and Photoshop. Ideal completion by mid-2005 for festival submission.

I have used a clip of actual Enemy Combatant Radio, hope to use more with their appoval.

I will be coming to ECR meetings with samples of what I have so far, I look forward to meeting any and everyone who wishes to be a part of this, including feedback, possible festival submission, and streetlevel promotion. I am open to suggestion and strategy. This is just fiction, and I hope to have fun as well as raise some points for discussion wherever people gather.

thanks,
