UCSF dog experiments going through
We recently learned that "Dr" Jeffrey Olgin has began to acquire dogs for his "project" that would abuse and kill 550 dogs at UCSF. He also has another approved project coming up that would do something similar to 200 additional dogs. Can you imagine how many cages and pacemakers they are going to get? These dogs will suffer terribly because their hearts will be sped up to dangerous speeds by pacemakers. Some will even have portions of their hearts destroyed. What he/they are trying to do is see how far they can stretch it before the dogs die. It can range from a few days to 6 months, depending on how fast they set the pacemakers or they could have other complications of infections from the implants. Perhaps all the dogs will be housed at the brand new Mission Bay campus, which is nearly built if not already completely built, as there must not be much room left for cages in the old campus. But at any rate we know that they have begun the process of buying dogs and I'm sure cages, too.
This is very sad even after we complained to the chancellor, who according to UCSF (as well as according to the Regents) is the only person who can stop any experiment. It appears they have decided not to stop it, even after we have pointed out how useless and foolish the experiments are because dog hearts are very different from human hearts from its shape down to its cells and chemistry. They still plan to carry it through.
