Andean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA) talks will be held in Tucson from Nov. 30-Dec. 4, 2004. Over 1,500 delegates will be coming to participate in
the negotiations. If passed these agreements will have devastating impacts for the people and ecosystems of Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. The U.S.
government is pushing hard for AFTA since negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA) have stalled. AFTA provisions,
negotiated behind closed doors, supersede organized labor, human rights, and environmental protection laws, and lead to increased privatization of natural resources for the sole benefit of multinational corporations. Also in 2003 more trade unionists were murdered in Colombia than in the rest of
the world combined. The No AFTA Alliance stands with the citizens of Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia for trade that is truly fair and protects workers
and the environment. COME TO TUCSON AND HELP DERAIL THE U.S. AGENDA OF FREE EXPLOITATION!
