Day After Thanksgiving Marks the Beginning of Season of Consumers' Resistance
The day after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States, as it marks the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season-- for most. But a growing movement observes Buy Nothing Day on that day, which in 2004 fell on 11/26. In an annual Buy Nothing protest in San Francisco, sheep took to the streets in Union Square.
