With few days to prepare, the rally at Mission High School on July 16 was a smashing success.

Over 1,000 enthusiastic Greens, socialists, independents and no few Democrats cheered, chanted, played music and discussed politics during the kick-off rally for Nader-Camejo.

Time to move away from the two-party duopoly and let Democracy ring free!

this reminds me of political crack ho's fighting for rock on the sidewalk.

pontificating about issues is not the same thing as running a credible campaign.

its nice for ralph and peter to say what they'd do, but imagine, once in office their ability to get ANY of it through the duopolic congress.

it makes no difference whether david cobb from the green party or ralph nader say or do this.

but nader has proven himself unable and unwilling to create any permanent national organization nor participate in the green party national.

david cobb and the greens represent the best change to build a sustainable independent progressive political party.

vote your conscience. i'd prefer you vote green and for cobb so your vote lasts longer than this election. but if you need to, vote for nader.

remember: a vote for kerry is a vote for bush.

It was very inspiring --.
Nader & Camejo pull no punches in blaming the Dems. & Republicans for the devastation of the world & our country in the service of corporate profits, & on insisting on right action to protect people & the world. Their platform is one most of us can agree with!

Bush's policies prevail because the Democrats support them -- they have been stopped when we empower each other & those in other countries by opposing them -- our best hope is to build the progressive movement & trust in our power & the rest of the world instead of fearing Bush et al.!

But for those afraid that "a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush", know that California is a Democratic stronghold which the Republicans have given up on! It went for the Dem. 67% last time, thereby giving him all its electoral votes. (There are 10 more such states.)

So work for a change - WE are the only force preventing corporate interest takeover -- we & progressive politicians & candidates whom we need to support for the well-being of all - to build the movement for the long term!

chant all you want, whine about how the duopoly is corrupt, but WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

wasting your time down rabbit holes might satisfy some leftist need to protest, but in the end will not elect a president, will not elect the state legislators needed to change implementation of the electoral college nor will it elect congress members who can submit constitutional amendments to do away with the electoral college.

can any of you contemplate, for a moment, why either face of the duopoly in california would consider allocating the state's electoral vote proportionately? why any small state legislature would give up their relative advantage afforded by the senate aspect of allocation of electoral college votes?

ralph and peter can whine and complain all they want. were they to be elected, could you imagine the response of the duopolic congress? if there's anything that eact aspect of the duopoly hates more than the other aspect of the duopoly its independence. when nader says that he would do this, that, and the other thing, with a congress firmly in the grip of the corporate sector, they'd simply govern by override, all nice and by the rules.

this is a case where the psychological needs of leftist activists cloud objective judgement of the political terrain and the very real obstacles that the duopoly has placed in our path. i don't know about you, but i gave up chanting in the 1980s. hell, if nader/camejo can't even get 400 supporters in one room in sf, then this is really merely a sideshow.

with half of nader/cameo's base socialists, this one is dead on arrival. the success of the green party has been in the relative lack of sectarian socialists. but that success has attracted socialists, trotskyites and the like. shameless to a fault, these socialists have no capacity to take feedback from the electorate rather prefer to postulate their grandiose vanguard visions upon an unwilling populace whom they shame for not agreeing. this is not a viable electoral strategy.

all we hear from nader and cameo is how bad the democrats are, at least gonzalez mentioned the mining act of 1872, but forgot to discuss the environmental disaster in its political tailings. But cameo and nader are simply focusing on the faults of our opponents rather than building anything durable and sustainable.

and since this is a sideshow, political chump change, and we admit that cobb's campaign is a sideshow, why not pitch your pennies in the only campaign that has a chance of outlasting this election cycle--the Green Party's presidential campaign?

Give me a break.

Cobb is a white businessman from Texas who campaigned in the Southern States and pulled the Greens to right . . . the party is being destroyed by his covert gang bent on taking down Nader.

Any political party making offers to get on their knees to ensure OCCUPATION for the next 20 years in Iraq, or permanently, is no political party, it's a cheerleader for occupation.

'Future Focus' of the Green party: VP candidate Camejo is a green, and neverminding how this race goes, I see him running for president next time around. I'd choose him over Cobb any day. He won't roll over for the Democrats.
by Very Green
Marc is one of those anticomunist, pro-Kerry who covers his shameless capitulation to the duopoly with some left-sounding rethoric... Cobb? give me a break! So typical it becomes stereotypical.
