June 3-5 Jerusalem and SF marches

by save Freedom @ yahoogroups. com
Jerusalem march for "Love Without Borders";
San Francisco march against Bush.
On Thursday, June 3, in Jerusalem, around 3,000 queers and their non-queer allies marched to Liberty Bell Park under a banner proclaiming "Love Without Borders". Most were Israeli Jews, but the crowd also included Americans and a few Arabs. The sponsoring group, Open House, welcomes Jews and Palestinans alike. Open House employs a Palestinian outreach coordinator, who often gets death threats from straight Palestinians.

On Saturday, June 5, in downtown San Francisco, a few thousand progressives and others held a peace demonstration, marching from United Nations Plaza (near Civic Center) to Justin Herman Plaza (near the Embarcadero).

Two queer SF marchers walked down Market Street naked, wearing hoods, protesting abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. One was Canadian.
