Sewage in Golden Gate Park

by David Grace (dpgrace [at] hotmail.com)
Sewage line hit by demolition crew in Golden Gate Park Thursday morning.
Moments ago demolition crews near the new De Young museum hit water and sewer lines, spewing vast quantities into the playground, tunnel and woods at Fulton & 10th Ave.

Heavy equipment was used to punch holes through the tunnel, but the bit punctured water and sewage lines that run through the floor of the tunnel. The flow has thousands of gallons running downhill into the playground.

The Alliance for Golden Gate Park, which had obtained a restraining order against the development, can be reached at 415 687 3090 for futher updates.
