Anarchist Solidarity Demonstration

by (A)ristotle
Anarchist Solidarity Action at the Greek Consulate.
On June 21st, tens of thousands of people flooded Thessaloniki in an attempt to disrupt the European Union's closed door negotiations. The growing international, anti-capitalist movement was 'fueled' by local, radical Greek resistance to challenge the legitimacy of these self-appointed global-masters. Large, well-organized direct actions were responded to with chemical attacks by the police who used illegal CS and CN gases. Just over two dozen protesters were arrested many of whom were beaten and tortured before being released. Seven individuals still languish in jail on felony charges.
The situation for each is dire.
Police planted a black backpack full of explosives next to a London man after his arrest. Video taken of the day shows him wearing a blue bag.
Another prisoner comes from the Basque region of Spain and has been demonized by the Greek press as a wanted, international terrorist.
And one man, a political refugee from Syria, is facing possible deportation. If he is deported he will likely be executed by the Syrian government
They have been brutalized in jail yet they remain in good spirits because of the overwhelming display of solidarity both in Greece and throughout all of Europe.
Solidarity actions within the United States are essential! The Greek state is relying on American apathy to carry out their persecution of these anarchists. However, our struggles are intertwined. Whether incarcerated or not, we are all fighting the class war together. They fought in the streets of Thessaloniki for us and we will continue to fight for them on the outside. Solidarity is the people's weapon!

Meet: Friday, September 26th at 12:30p.m. at Allyne Park, on the corner of Gough St. And Green St. in San Francisco. Then march to the Greek Consulate for a demonstration of international solidarity.
