Anti-WTO Street Theater
The Killer Tomatoes, a DASW affinity group, took aim against genetically engineered food and agribusiness in Sacramento last June, and now they skewer the WTO's trade policies. Their new skit, being performed in San Francisco and Oakland throughout the week of Sept 9-12, exposes the truth about the WTO's support of global corporate empire. The central theme of the 5-minute skit is commodification, and the skit's three scenes illustrate the commodification of water, of genes, and of labor.
