From the Enemy Combatant Studio, Sunny Anarchy produced two interviews for a special Labor Day broadcast for San Francisco Liberation Radio.
Employees at the Berkeley Bowl Marketplace are working to improve labor/management relations and to set forth a basic agreement covering wages, hours, and conditions of employment. The Berkeley Bowl Marketplace employees are striving to become members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) to create a contract with the owners of the store, Glenn and Diane Yasuda, to clarify both party’s responsibilities to each other and to the community.
On Friday, August 29, ninteen community activists including UFW Co-Founder Dolores Huerta, SEIU 250 homecare workers and homecare clients were arrested during an act of civil disobedience to protest the County Board of Supervisor's decision to deny a living wage and basic benefits for homecare workers.
