Aid worker killed in West Bank

TEL AVIV, Israel, June 30 (UPI) -- A Bulgarian construction worker was killed Monday in a shooting attack near the northern West Bank town of Jenin.
Just a day after the three main Palestinian groups declared a cease-fire, Chriso Radkov, 46, was hit in the head and died a short time later after efforts to resuscitate him failed.
He is the first fatality since Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad announced the cessation of attacks on Israelis, Ha'aretz reported.
The Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a group associated with Yasser Arafat's Fatah party, claimed responsibility for the attack. The militia consists of bands of gunmen who do not recognize a central authority -- unlike the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
There have been many shootings in the area where the attack took place, not far from the village of Yabed.
