Tonight on the show we talked with Bat, LO 21 and Crazy Jeff about the commodification, commercialization, and assimilation of queer values in the U.S., but especially in San Francisco during Pride Weekend. With major sponsors like BudLite, Absolut Vodka and Diesel Jeans dishing out major cash to earn a devoted target market, the true spirit of activism as exemplified by the Stonewall Riots has withered behind the parade barricades of the PRIDE parade. An underground movement has continued to grow though, in opposition to this forced exclusion of queers from their own celebration. We also give updates on the local protests, arrests, jail solidarity, etc., and excerpts from the Gay Shame Awards.
