Bay Area United Against War Says:
From Palestine to Iraq to Afghanistan–
No Pride In War!
No Pride In Occupation!
Bring the Troops Home Now! U.S. Out of the Middle
East!
End All Aid to Israel!
Fight The War Of Militarism, Prejudice And
Discrimination At Home!
Not A Penny, Not A Person For This Rich Man’s War For
Oil And Domination!

The San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender
Parade celebrates and defends the social gains won
since the Stonewall Rebellion in 1969. And there are
many gains to celebrate.

But at the same time, a menacing agenda is being
enacted where Senator Rick Santorum politically
attacks LGBTs and the president defends him. Gay
Filipino-American Marine Reservist Stephen Funk can be
locked away for a long time for refusing to take part
in the military barbarism in Iraq. We live in a
dangerous country where thousands have been detained
without trials, deportations are part of daily life,
and torture has been legally reintroduced. A country
where working people, the great majority of the
country, are facing a virtual war of unemployment,
wage cuts, pension wipeout, and privatization as
weapons of the battle. How secure can the gains of the
LGBT struggle be in this reactionary atmosphere?

Today, 35 years later and 25 since Harvey Milk was
assassinated, the U.S. military drums more LGBTs out
of the military than during the Vietnam War. And
regardless of the hard won gains by LGBTs, the U.S.
Military remains as reactionary as ever, both in its
“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy which incarcerates and
expels more service personnel than at any time, and in
its agenda of “Permanent War” against the world. The
U.S. is once again in an imperialist war of aggression
against three countries: Iraq and Afghanistan, which
the U.S. directly occupy, and Palestine, which the
U.S. pays Israel to occupy. Many more countries are on
the U.S. Imperialist's hit list.

1969: Stonewall Rebellion War on Vietnam,
Cambodia, and Laos
2003: Stonewall Rebellion + 35 War on Iraq,
Afghanistan, and Palestine

The Stonewall Rebellion was born in atmosphere of
social outrage against racism and the war in Vietnam,
Cambodia and Laos. Like then, it is time to organize
and fight the war at home and the war on the world the
bi-partisan government of the Republicans and the
Democrats has embarked upon. We of the Bay Area United
Against War urge you to join the antiwar movement.
Washington’s war to dominate the world and its working
people both at home and abroad is far from over, nor
is the fight to resist that agenda.

Join Us! Help Build BAUAW, for a united and democratic antiwar movement! Without organizing, there can be no real fight against the bosses, bankers, and businessmen of Washington and Wall Street. They are organized, and we must we be also! That is why we urge you to join the fight and support Bay Area United Against War, where straight, LGBT, of all genders, ages, and people of all colors are welcomed—ad in leadership! BAUAW spearheaded the massive February 16 march and rally, which was one of hundreds of events around the world that weekend that protested the incipient attack on Iraq. We have been there to help build every major demonstration and rally since.

We stand for a united and democratic antiwar movement–a movement that will remain independent of candidates who court the "peace vote" today while yesterday voted for war budget increases and the PATRIOT act.

BAUAW generally meets on Saturday afternoons in the Mission or in Noe Valley. Please call for location.
