Here are some photos I took at today's rally in Jack London Square. I will post the march photos seperately. I got to Jack London Square a bit before 1pm, the crowd was a good mix of union workers from various locals, community and anti-war/anti-capitalism activists, and members of the community. It's good to know that there is solidarity for the longshoremen and activists who were attacked and injured without provocation by officers of the Oakland PD. I really think this is the beginning of the end of Jerry Brown's political career in Oakland.

The police and corporate media were present, but I hardly noticed them- with the exception of one piggie I caught videotaping the march.

There are two upcoming events in the Oakland community involving the police brutality of April 7th. There will be a Town Hall Meeting on Monday April 28, 7pm @ the First Congregation Church on 27th and Harrison Streets. And on Tuesday April 29, 3pm there will be a Public Safety Committee meeting/hearing in the Oakland City Hall. They will be taking testinomy from activists and if I recall correctly, from the police as well- so if you were at the Oakland Docks April 7th, please go. The committee will also give members of the community a chance to speak about what they think of the police brutality at the docks during the hearing.
