Nat'l Day of Action Against the War
The Direct Action to Stop the War is leading a national day of actions against the war! DASW is calling for activists and community members to voice their opposition to the war in Iraq and at home by participating in one of three actions across the Bay Area.
Shut Down the Oakland Docks & Prevent Business as Usual for APL
Monday morning, instead of going to work or school, come down to the Oakland docks to picket the American President Lines. APL receives millions of taxpayer dollars every year for shipping military cargo through the Department of Defense Maritime Security Program (MSP). Meet as West Oakland Bart at 5am for access to shuttles to the action site. Help maintain a high-energy mass to prevent business as usual. This is a pro-worker/anti-war action, continuing on all day. Details
Day of Wooden Spoons at the SF Federal Building Meet at 7am Monday morning to participate in a non-violent direct action at the Federal Building. There will be poetry, drumming, speakers and civil disobedience - and lots of wooden spoons, sponsored by the Presente affinity group. For more info, contact Buff Whitman-Bradley at (415) 461-3662. Details
Block Weapons Shipment at the Concord Naval Base
Keep vigil at Concord Naval Weapons Station (Port Chicago Hwy Concord California) and help block militiary shipments from 7-9am on Monday morning! CNWS has a history of deploying weapons, and has already shipped out over 50 trucks of ammunition for the war in Iraq. For more info, contact, Wendy Kaufmyn, kaufmyn@aol.com, 510.848.6786. Details
