Light colored clothing bloc on 15th

by ed
Please don't breakaway!
This whole so-called *breakway* march idea is unwise. It weakens the numbers of the real protest.

It seems to me more like a ploy by "outside influences" (a phrase I stole from *them*) to depleat the numbers of the larger march and also to incite overexuberant, less than mature members of the crowd into unwise actions; like throwing bottles and rocks at police or store windows. Don't do it. You harm the cause!

You will not win the hearts and minds of the average corporate media informed American Joe by acting like rioters, inviting violent police intervention, and looking like an anarchist mob on CNN. This is exactly what the propaganda machine in this country wants you to do.

So please; come to the protest in light-colored clothing so that any blood that you bleed due to police nightsitcks hitting you in the face shows up well for the cameras. And bring more cameras and cam-corders! We need irrefutable evidence of this kind of police instigation and brutality. Leave the bottles and rocks in the garbage.

Better yet, show up in three piece suits, act reasonably, and speak clearly. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been proud of you.

the last 3 marches have started at 11am, and the breakaway started at 3 when more than half the people have headed home. Nobody made a decision about this one yet. MLK Jr was notable because he was successful in what he did. There were many many resisters who came before him in the NAACP and so forth. He carried out unpermitted marches - the reason the police attacked them with dogs and water hoses in Birmingham was because they didn't permit the march.
