CKUT Radio: Confronting the War on Terror

As George Bush and the American government beat the drums of war and prepare for an unprovoked attack on Iraq and its people, resistance to the War on Terrorism continues to build throughout the world. Throughout the United States street protests against an attack on Iraq are growing each day. As the anniversary of the first bomb being dropped on Afghanistan approaches, people throughout the United States are preparing for a National Day of Action under the banner: “Not in our Name.”

The United Nation’s imposed economic sanctions on Iraq have killed up to one million Iraqis. As the quiet war against Iraq – a war waged with economic sanctions – continues, Western governments prepare to extend the death and suffering of the Iraqi people through an all out attack. This planned attack is yet another manifestation of military and economic imperialism waged by the United States and it’s allies. On October 6th, people throughout the United States will take to the streets to oppose an attack on Iraq and to oppose the War on Terrorism.
