Pledge of Resistance, SF, 9/11/02
At the end of the rally, 30 or so young people took the stage to lead the crowd, still about 1000, in the Pledge of Resistance
This pledge ends with a call to come out Oct 6 at Union Square in San Francisco for a mass convergence to remember the beginning of the bombing of the people Afghanistan, and to stop in its tracks this unprovoked, imperialistic, war on the people of Iraq.
These onesided wars don't bring political change in these countries. They only bring resources under tighter control of mostly US multinational corporations, creating tensions with European multinationals and even greater risk of war.
The current boundaries of Iraq and even the regime of Saddam Hussein were created by the the British Empire in the 1960's.
The arms industry on both sides of the Atlantic has gold in it eyes.
Pledge your resistance.
