A photo essay is just that, an essay of pictures and not words. So I took that challenge and just looked at the photos and not the captions. I'd say by the looks of things, both the CHP and the crowd seem rather calm.

The words put the photos in context.

The words only put the photos in the context of the author's opinion -- anyone else could have written a very different set of captions with a very different spin.

My point was to challenge the viewer to take an unbiased look at the photos -- to read the body language, gestures, and attitudes of the protesters and the CHP and see if they matched the provided "editorial" copy . You're not afraid of the opinion an unbiased, independent thinker might form from simply looking at the photos themselves, are you?
