This footage shows how the police provoked mass arrests by declaring the march illegal before the permit had expired and started pushing back aggressively. Most of the almost 30 people arrested were beaten and grabbed during this time. Watch carefully for pepper-spray in action amidst the swinging batons.

I would have, except that it was a total last minute job I was able to do before taking off to travel last night. I'm currently far away from my computer, so a high bandwidth version may have to wait...
The one difference in the reporting has been about the time this all has happened. The corporate media said this happened after 2:00, the video seems to indicate that this all happened before 2:00. Personally, I believe you that this happened before 2:00. But it really would have been a slam dunk if you had shown us a couple of watches and clocks, perhaps the watch of a police officer, to prove the time.
Ok this doesnt help that much since when I got down to the end of the bridge the arrests had already happened, but here are time stamps on some pics that makes it clear the cops started blocking of the bridge and arresting people before 2 PM.

Apparently you people don't understand the limitations of a permit to march ACROSS the bridge! The timeframe is not a guaranteed right of access for the duration, it is a WINDOW OF TIME for which you can MARCH NOT STOP on the bridge. IF you were intelligent enough to understand what you were given the right to do, there would have been no problem. From the very beginning people were calling for lawyers, police brutality, hidinig behind children you INTENTIONALLY brought to this event, and showing their ignorance as to what the permit allowed or did not allow.

By the way I have never heard of US flag wavers arrested by the CHP, though they have been stopping traffic in many Bay Area freeways a few months ago. Also I am sure these so-called patriots had no permit to demonstrate on the overpases over the freeways. Again, thank you for fighting for peace and freedom.

Law enforcement official are required to protect and serve, if a citizen get out of hand it is an officers duty to protect themselves as well as other from harm. If she did swing at the officer then she deserves to be treated as a hostile protestor and subdued.

"God Bless America"...for what? for maquiladoras? for the three-tiered fence at the border that's already killed over 70 people since january? for being the richest nation with one of the worst records in human rights violations, illiteracy, brutality, xenophobia? could we add straight supremacy to the list of things we are thankful for? how about the long and continuing history of racism and white privilege? for NAFTA? for being bought and sold by big business? for being a democracy in name but not reality? for having eliminated more and more freedoms with ever single war we get into? if i could with good conscience ask God to bless this nation, it would not be for the institutions, the borders, and the wealth, but rather for the people like at this rally who take to the streets and fight for the only kind of democracy and rights that there can be--those fought for and won by the many against the few.

The little girl I saw arrested after the protest near that little parking lot by the bridge walk way about 50 yds from the bridge at about 1:59 the courageous little girl did not assault the chpig the chpigs where pushing the people with sticks she said stop pushing me an the chpigs attacked her after the chpigs tied the little girl up and tossed her to the ground one chpig fatass kneeled on her and grabbed her ass I took a photo of this

They were permitted to march until 2:00 p.m. By 1:35 we had crossed 80% of the bridge, less than a quarter mile to go, when the CHPig scum blocked the sidewalk and blocked traffic and started shoving and pepper spraying the marchers back towards San Francisco.

A white (American) kid in Indonesia (I think) broke some local laws and was caned for it... The media went ape-shit, of course, but the local government didn't care and carried out the punishment. Why? Just because people look different than you doesn't mean they get a pass to break your laws - and arresting somone of another race/nationality who is breaking laws is NOT racism - it's adhering to the law.
The incident was in Signapore, the kid keyed some cars, and the number of cane shots was reduced from five to three.

First of all, we were asked to help in most of the incidents you mention above. Specifically Iraq ( Did you forget THEY INVADED KUWAIT), Vietnam ( Yes, the South Vietnamese Govt. ASKED for our help).
In Panama, we had the vital interests of the US at stake. We PAID for and built the canal . Our own survival requires it remain open. Once we took care of the problem, we left and gave the zone, as Mr Carter foolishly promised, to the Panamamians. As to all the others you mention, IF we did anything it didn’t involve genocide, torture etc. etc. etc.

I am assuming you mean that only straight people succeed in this country. AND YET, gays, on average make more money and live in the better areas of this country. Many of them achieve success in the higher echelons of government. Or does that not satisfy you.

That is a crock. Today in America, the most oppressed group is the white male. They are the only group with no rights. If ten whites and one minority were to apply for a job, and ANY of the whites were picked, the minority could file suit and might win, no matter the true circumstance. Reverse the situation and none of the white males could do anything about it because no one would listen. I was in an EEOC class to learn about the process and during the class one of the white males asked the instructor (a minority group member) about HIS rights in an EEOC suit and he was told “ you are a white male, you have no EEOC rights”. Although that is not legally true, it is certainly true in practice. In the distant past, there was true discrimination against many minorities, including my parents, who came from another country. BUT that is long past and the pendulum has swung way over to the other side. Don’t give me that trite and tired racist crap!

First of all, we were asked to help in most of the incidents you mention above. Specifically Iraq ( Did you forget THEY INVADED KUWAIT), Vietnam ( Yes, the South Vietnamese Govt. ASKED for our help).
In Panama, we had the vital interests of the US at stake. We PAID for and built the canal . Our own survival requires it remain open. Once we took care of the problem, we left and gave the zone, as Mr Carter foolishly promised, to the Panamamians. As to all the others you mention, IF we did anything it didn’t involve genocide, torture etc. etc. etc.

what right to dissent are you talking about? we were just attacked by the police on the golden gate bridge for peacefully walking across it with an anti-war message. people were arrested for trying to dissent.

you can ask "god" to bless america for that if you like, but as far as i'm concerned if "god" is "blessing" the u.s., he or she needs to have his or her head examined.
