Spherical Productions presents
PrayerDance for Peace in the Middle East
May 24, 2002 8pm-2am
The time has come for us to gather, awaken, and heal. It is a time of much suffering and tension in our world. Because our media distort or don't report these stories of suffering, we remain unaware. The powers that be depend on our ignorance to manipulate our world to their own ends. But this is our world of which we are all co-creators. And as co-creators we need to be aware of what is truly going on in our world. We must educate each other through art, music, performance, dance, ritual, and prayer. And through these mediums of communication, we empower and enliven each other, we inspire each other, we realize our full potential and power. Only then can we truly manifest our vision of peace in our world.
Spherical Productions presents an evening of speakers, poets, performances and DJs fusing political awareness with dance culture. This event is a benefit for If Americans Knew, an organization dedicated to educating the American public on issues of major importance that are unreported, underreported, or misreported in the American media. "It is our belief that when Americans know the facts on a subject, they will, in the final analysis, act in accordance with morality, justice and the best interests of their nation, and of the world. It is our goal to supply the information essential to those responsible for the actions of the strongest nation on earth -- the American people." Featuring:
