A poll conducted by Scott Rasmussen Public Opinion Research has found that 41 percent of Americans plan to vote for a Republican congressional candidate this November while 40 percent plan to vote for a Democrat.
The data is from a national telephone survey of 2,735 likely voters conducted from March 24-30. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
The survey found traditional demographic voting patterns. Men favor Republicans 44 to 37 percent while women favor Democrats 43 to 39 percent. Married voters and white voters favor Republicans while unmarried voters and non-white voters favor Democrats.
Broken down by employer, the poll found that government employees favor Democrats by a 45 to 38 percent margin. Private sector workers, on the other hand, favor Republicans by a 44 to 36 percent margin.
Americans who think the U.S. is likely to win the war on terrorism favor the GOP, 47 to 35 percent. Those who say victory is unlikely favor Democrats 56 to 23 percent. The latest survey confirms earlier data showing that three-of-four Americans believe the U.S. is somewhat or very likely to win the war on terrorism.
Among those who plan to vote for a Republican, 62 percent say President Bush is using the right amount of military force in the war. Thirty percent of GOP voters want him to use more force while only 6 percent say Bush is using too much military muscle.
Those who plan to vote for Democrats are more divided on the issue, with 25 percent saying Bush is using too much force and 28 percent saying he should use more. Only 41 percent of Democratic congressional voters believe the president is using the right amount of force.
The survey shows that 37 percent of Americans think Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Forty-two percent say fair while 16 percent say poor. Congress receives good or excellent reviews from 37 percent of conservatives and 38 percent of liberals.

I think you're going to enjoy it a great deal.
b) The next election is not "national" so the national figures are meaningless. It's going to be by Congressional districts for Congresspersons and by states for Senators in 2/3 of the states where a Senate term is ending.
They seriously never run out of time (which they have abundant amounts of). The thing is, debate is good for several things; a debate between two talented debaters allows people unfamiliar with an issue to learn about arguments for two sides (although it unnaturally tends to funnel thinking about an issue into just two 'sides') and the process allows two mature people to learn something by having to set up logical and coherent arguments, and possibly change their own opinion. Debate, however, does not go anywhere unless people are prepared to listen as well; a contest to see who can produce the greatest or loudest outflow, and always get the last word, doesn't do a thing. And any talented debater can seem to show that the moon is made of cheese.
These guys clearly aren't hoping to influence anyone, or to learn anything, and they aren't going to stop, however, consider that each hour spent on the internet is another hour not spent abusing or oppressing any children or relatives they might have, and isn't spent out harrassing activists in person or having any real influence on the world. They aren't out earning any money or learning any skills or doing anything. Right wing talk radio is good in that sense as well. There are only 24 hours in a day and each hour doing chatboards leaves you more neutralized.
I especially love their listings of Berkeley "nightlife"! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
When a bunch of graying, fat-assed, 55 year old leftist has-beens on Zoloft(tm) get together and print the news, THE WORLD LISTENS!!!!
go away, nobody gives a fuck about your rascist views.
btw/ all this tough talk really just proves you are a chickenshit coward.
