a poem for forest defenders

by blue
a poem and nothing more
the day the trees started falling
i was barely six years old
i couldn't hear their yelling
from humboldt county, wet and cold

but when i started listening
and i heard the battle cry
i headed for the trees, glistening
and falling dead against napalmed skies

i didn't know how to love them
the people of the trees
so i tried and tried and tried again
and finally left with the breeze

if you want to save the trees
for children yet to come
you must save the people too
or all will come undone

I hope you come back again
The people here are not the same
I'm sorry you had trouble then
This is definitely not a game.

I'm sure you can find love in your heart
For those who are in pain
Coming back is a good start
By car, bus, or train.

Many people are wounded, inside,
And healing is desperately needed,
Maybe we can help to turn the tide,
Until the pain of the world has receded.
by good cause...problems
The strategies being used do not work when you target people based upon fear. Yes, the planet is dying to some extent, but is it? For when human beings have gone like the dinosaurs, the planet will be alive with single cell organisms who will start evolution all over again. But back to the strategy, why is it that the propaganda pushed by the environmental movement is largely based in fear?

Yes, it is the same line of PR Mary Bullwinkle pushes(your job will be lost if you don't cut the ancient ones on triple shifts), but they have the advantage of being the destroyers. Why is it, no one thinks for themselves? Question reality, think for yourself. If sitting in a tree isn't connecting you with the land, educating you, then go fly, live gracefully with respect and dignity.

If the enviro's had all things being equal resources and access wise politically and economically? Who'd win the struggle to protect the planet and in turn protect the humans and the other wonderful mammels on this big ol planet? Yes the corporate pilages are wrong, but is environmentalism more cult like?

This movement is based in Love, and empowers people to rise up, with non-violence, to challenge the destruction of the Earth.
We encourage people to face their fears, and to transform them into compassion and strength.
It is a movement of people, rising up in the face of oppression, and reclaiming the natural power that is within all of us.
Where there is Love, there is no fear; where there is fear, there needs to be more Love.
The Earth is being poisoned, this is fact. With herbicides in the water, chemicals in the air, and the plundering of the Earth's natural resources, there is no doubt that the world is in dire need of re-evolution.
We challenge people to re-evolve, by getting back to the Earth, reconnecting, and beginning, again, from base level. By doing this, we begin to shed layer after layer of conditioning and illusion. The Truth is waiting to be discovered, and connecting with the trees is a good way to reconnect with the Truth.
The time is now for revolution, and we will overcome the oppression that is holding us back from truly enjoying our lives.

I dance.
I dance.

I do a little dance.
While dressed in underpants.

*whispers*
underpants on my head...
underpants on my head...
underpants on my heeaadddd....
*stops whispering*

It's the ants!
It's the ants!
The ants in my pants!
The ants in my pants!

They fight with the monkey
The monkey in my pants.
And yet they dance.
Bad dancing monkey.
I must spank the dancer.

Can you truly enjoy your life with people being murdered every day? With the Earth's life support system being destroyed?
We could fully enjoy life if we had peace all over this planet...I suppose some people can close themselves off and be oblivious...not all of us...
by lizzy
I enjoy life despite the fact that there are those around the world who have it much tougher than I do. I refuse to "not enjoy" life just because some are not able. If you wish to be depressed or whatever because there are "people being murdered every day" and with "the Earth's life support system being destroyed", that is certainly your choice.

It's not a matter of being "oblivious", I am fully aware that there is pain and suffering and that I wish it would cease. I simply refuse to life my life thinking about it 24/7/365.

If everyone would help their neighbor and bear one anothers burdens right here at home rather than worry about things half a world away we can't control anyway, we would be better off. Volunteering to help those less fortunate than yourself would be a good beginning to help you to start enjoying life.

We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
