Danny Glover at Martin Luther King Celebration in Modesto

When Danny Glover spoke against the death penalty at Princeton University recently Oliver North & other "air personalities" went ballistic - They warped & distorted what Glover had to say, & urged their listeners to bombard the sponsors of Modesto's Martin Luther King Day Celebration with complaints. Because Danny Glover supported Barbara Lee's courageous vote in Congress against giving George Bush unlimited "war powers" Glover has the target of right wing talk show hosts. The Modesto event sponsors began to back out, & the Junior College where Danny Glover was supposed to talk cancelled for fear that Oliver North & the other prowar propagandists might spew venom their way. Others persisted, however, & Glover spoke to an overflow crowd at a church in Modesto on Saturday night.

Glover's talk was informative & inspirational, in addition to dissecting the media distortions of his Princeton talk.
