Arms Grab in Afghan Refugee Camps
The "inmates" are being disarmed as millions of Aghans suffer as refugees as a result of US-led bombing raids that shattered their society and life. Millions more people who are learning to hate the United States and their puppet client states.
Musharraf orders Afghan refugee camps deweaponization
Islamabad, Nov 25, IRNA -- President General Pervez Musharraf has
directed the civil armed forces and law enforcement agencies to cordon
off all Afghan refugee camps if presence of arms is suspected and
deweaponize the inmates, said a local daily Sunday.
'The News' reported that the provincial governments have been
directed to recover arms from Afghan refugees and report to the
federal government about the progress in this direction.
According to one estimate, the daily said, about three million
Afghan refugees are living in the four provinces of the country and
many of them possess sophisticated weapons that could be a potential
threat to the country.
The newspaper added that all the law enforcement agencies have
been asked to act firmly to deweaponize the camps.
It said the government had received reports from the provinces
that large number of sophisticated weapons could be dumped in the
Afghan refugees.
The government was warned that the fall of the Taliban regime and
rise of the Northern Alliance could result in some reaction in these
camps, the daily noted.
