Every grassroots organization in San Francisco is mobilized for massive voter turnout for this milestone election for public and solar power on November 6, 2001. If you have not participated, NOW is the time to join. There is still much to do and we need everyone. The weather is beautiful for precinct walking and we have hundreds of phone calls to make to push our voters to the polls. It is voter turnout that will decide this election; the higher the turnout, the greater the victory for public and solar power. Food is provided to all precinct walkers and phone bankers. We also have lots of posters and pins. Please spare at least one hour of your day today to help in this crucial effort. REMEMBER: In March 2002, the rate caps come off and PG&E's rates will skyrocket, as happened in San Diego Our PG&E bills will at least double, if not quadruple. That is why we need public power now.

MUD CRUCIAL IN ALL RACES:

All races on the ballot are about public power, in particular the Municipal Utility District (MUD) created by Prop. I. If it were not for public power, the people positions would be sleepers. Make your decision as to whom to vote for on the basis of whether or not they support public power. It is mandatory that everyone pick the candidate who has the strongest public power position.

READ YOUR VOTER HANDBOOK

To be informed about this election, READ YOUR VOTER HANDBOOK. TV ads and slick mailers do not give information; they are propaganda. PG&E, AT&T and Pacific Bell are paying for the very expensive TV ads against MUD. The rule of thumb is the more expensive the ad, the more anti-workingclass and anti-consumer are the promoters of that ad.

In addition, you must BE SURE TO VOTE. YOU CAN VOTE TODAY. "Expedite" is the key word. Do not delay. You can vote at City Hall:
1. Sunday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. Monday, Nov 5, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
3. Tuesday, Nov 6, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you choose to wait until election day, your polling place is on the mailing label of your voter handbook. You can also look up your polling place at:
http://sunset.ci.sf.ca.us/pollup3.nsf/searchdata?openform
OR
http://www.sfgov/election Then click Polling Place Lookup.

YOU CAN ALWAYS VOTE AT CITY HALL. If you cannot find your polling place or there is a problem at your polling place, RUN to City Hall and vote.
If your name is not on the list wherever you vote and you think you have registered to vote, demand a provisional ballot.
