Why is it that Qatar ranks first and San Francisco's public power on the election ballot in 4 days ranks sixth on the San Francisco IMC website's center highlights? Earth to IMC: All politics are local politics. The public power issue is now primary and the whole country is watching San Francisco's election.

Hey -- I agree that the SF public power vote is worthy of top billing, but if you read the "Qatar" story more closely, you'll notice that there is going to be a large local action in Richmond that intends to point out connections between the secret dealings of the WTO and local economic and environmental effects, both here and in the "third world." Acting locally with one eye on the global.

We certainlly oppose the wto, nafta, alca,and any profit motive, but NOW is the time to focus on nov. 6 elections.
