LPFM Protest 1998

On October 4 & 5, 1998, LPFM activists swarmed the streets of Washignton DC to demand an end to the ban on community access to the airwaves.

During the two day gathering, activists held a strategy conference, lobbied representatives, and staged direct actions outside FCC and NAB headquarters.

This picture was taken outside NAB headquarters moments after activists won control of the space in front of the NAB building.

Moments later the NAB flag was hoisted down from their flag pole, and a LPFM pirate flag went up. Infuriated, NAB security directed cops to move in for arrests.
